State of my writing

I know certain people *looks at no one specifically ;)* are waiting for a Draws update. The current state is ChaoticPile1(21K) plus ChaoticPile2(12K) and I might hate the boys and girl all a little because that universe keeps getting more complicated all the time. Various interesting talks and experiences from last weekend don't help either because they made me rethink some of the characters' actions and feelings.

I just moved a large chunk from Pile1 to Pile2 in the hope of a breakthrough but I already thought I'd have one several times over the last weeks, to no avail. So it might take some time until the next part comes out. I'm sorry. Believe me, I'd rather be quicker :/

Regarding ship wars, the current aka last prompt caused a fantastic blank in my brain and I'm currently trying to let my subconscious work some magic on it - and frankly hoping that my team colleagues come up with something before I have to.

In addition, I love all the current meta discussions but they eat my time. DUH :)

So... yeah. I'm sorry.

Yeah, apparently the Captain and I are on our own special crack for picking that quote!!!

We had no idea!! I seriously thought that everybody would kind of go, "ooooo, twisted-hot!" and jump right on it.

Which is not to imply that I think we're all twisted (well, I do, but I LIKE THAT ABOUT US) but to explain that I am very sadface about the fact that it's not working at ALL for either of you :( :( :( SADFACE I TELL YOU. I think I've really misread some of the moods and interests that everybody's been bringing to this whole thing, and that's on me, AND I FEEL VERY BADLY ABOUT IT.

So, uh. I don't actually have any fic cooking for the prompt yet, but I'm definitely open for meta (and I think re_white is too.) I'm going to be up and about at weird, limited hours for a while, but I'll chime in wherever I can. And maybe I can offer, like, sub-prompts? Things that I think would fit the prompt, but are different spins on it or something? hmm.

Would a team-only tiny!fic fest be helpful at all in addition to meta?? Art prompts? bribery with baked goods and booze?

*makes other desperate thoughts about boosting morale*

Hey, please, really, stop feeling bad about it! Prompts are hard, and there's a reason I usually only do b2s drabbles where I can pick from seven prompts each round *G*

This said, I'd love to get sub-prompts or do a tiny!fic drabble fest! I'm willing, really, just my muses ain't. Rope me in - please!

I'm so sorry I made you feel as if this was your fault! Don't apologize! I had NO intention of making you feel guilty, in fact, I did revel in the sheer awesomeness of the prompt. My inability to come up with anything is entirely due to my burning myself out with a combination of shipwars fic, non shipwars fic, and meta. It is all on me, and not on you or re_white, I swear!

I'm hoping I think of something, but in the meantime I'm hoping inspiration will come by letting my brain unwind in a metaphorical hot tub.

Don't worry. I'm, like, over a month later than I wanted to be with my own WIP, and it's still not ready for posting (nor will it be anywhere near as long and meaty juicy [gives up on interesting adjectives] good as Draws anyhow.

I know I poke and prod and whine over my need for more Draws with the worst of them, but leaving that aside I do feel your pain and fully understand what it's like when this shit just won't cooperate, damn it. Hell, I wish I was updating faster too, and I'm ridiculously aware that I haven't updated my series since February, and haven't had a meaningful update since Christmas. WTF.

*slaps Pike and McCoy and Kirk around like the stubborn bitches they are*

I can certainly see why the next chapter of Draws is difficult to write just by projecting from the last chapter -- lots of complex interactions with 4 people and subsets thereof. It seems to me likely that it will be a transitional section of the story. I will wait patiently for it :)
