amusing side note

When reading GO stories, I stay really cold over P/Q - but give me three lines of Picard/Riker and I'm all hot and horny.

Sigh. Why I can never fall for the main slash pairings of a series? Would make things so much easier at times.

*LOL*

Well, that particular pairing makes total sense for a trekkie :))

In my head, Kirk's old friend takes up a lot more room than I wanted to give him, but see, he's that fling with McCoy...args, and it all makes total sense within the story and he's just too cool *whines* :) And all are happy.

Guess it speaks for our writing and thinking strength to summon up strong original characters :)

I'm so happy that you refer to Michael and Anton as OC's for me... I posted about this a year ago on LJ or someplace about whether or not they were, at this point--my logic being that all of the stuff I like about them is stuff I basically made up. I mean, none of the UNCLE crap matters anymore. It's all about cute gay science nerd hopelessly closeted, very cowardly but fighting to be free all the same, etc, being vulnerable in a way that Kirk just isn't.... it's not the Michael the scriptwriters created. Or if it is, I'll wet myself in shock :P But people were saying no, they're still fanfic...

[livejournal.com profile] shatfat once said that the one thing keeping D/V from being good original fic (with the names changed) is that it doesn't really read with the atmosphere & aesthetic of the time. I don't know if I agree with that. I guess now that they've fled to Paris, anything I write with them is original fic fodder. Hum.
