New budgie!

No pic yet, but my husband is flirting with our new bird, which we will probably call "Schnaeppchen" (sale of the century) because we walked right into the petshop when he and more birds were delivered. He's such a beauty, white with some turquoise on his back, he would've sold in no time! So we were lucky to get him :)

Bird

I wish I could have a bird. I would like a cockatiel. My cat (see icon) and my largest dachshund (teckel to you, right?) would kill it.

Hehe, I had to look up "Teckel" - and while someone may say it, it's always "Dackel" for normal people :)

And yeah, a bird in this mixture...no good idea :)

In the dog books here, they say it is "teckel" in German, so...this is wrong? I like Dackel! Nice sound. I actually call them "dachsle"
BTW, does George know about your icon?

Awww. Our last budgie died just before Christmas and we decided not to get another one. He was an old bird and his cage was right next to our old microwave oven. I reckoned he was trying to outlive the microwave because it was only a week or so after we chucked out the old oven that he died, as if he went, "Ha! I win!" :~) Your new bird sounds great!

Thanks :)) It's one of the most silent ones we ever had...it can chirp, but it rarely does it. Ah well, quarantine time alone in a small cage. I guess he's going to be louder once he's in the big birdcage with the gang of five ;)

Cool story with your budgie and the microwave :) Some are really tough and last (almost) forever :)) (Birds, I mean, *G*)

Our last budgie was VERY noisy. And stubborn. I think that's why he lasted so long. The female bird we had seemed to get really sick of his company, LOL.

*ggggg* Well, of our bunch, the first one was/is the loudest and we called him "Motzel" (grumbler). The others aren't as loud, but as a group they still make a lot of noise at times. One customer once asked me if I lived in a botanic garden ;)

LOL!
