amusing side note

When reading GO stories, I stay really cold over P/Q - but give me three lines of Picard/Riker and I'm all hot and horny.
Sigh. Why I can never fall for the main slash pairings of a series? Would make things so much easier at times.

Date: 2007-02-16 07:16 am (UTC)I think a good timeline for a fic would be post-Best of Both Worlds - Picard is hurting and definitely in need of comfort and Riker has just proven himself to be a good captain, etc. Lots of good angst and h/c potential there. Plus Riker must have nightmares about Locutus and losing Picard on the bridge like that would make him feel guilty.
But P/Q? I can see Q wanting to explore possibilities maybe, but Picard lusting for Q just doesn't compute with me. *shrug*

Date: 2007-02-16 07:37 pm (UTC)P/Q is... well, I think Q really has a thing for Jean-Luc, but Jean-Luc would never allow himself to fall in love with Q. They're both very strong personalities and they'd argue all the time. I'm not sure if that's very enjoyable... *scratches head*
I also decided that, if I ever get to write some Trek slash again, I'll write P/R only. *grin*

Date: 2007-02-18 10:56 am (UTC)Picard/Riker is great (though of course you know how I love Riker/Wes, bwahaha)... my ex-girlfriend and I once scarred an online guy-friend of ours for life by roleplaying Picard/Riker in a group chat once. Good times.
