It's three o'clock in the morning, and I turned left and right for two hours now... I simply can't switch from our vacational night cycle (never going to bed before 3...rather, at 7) to the "normal" cycle, aka, going to bed before 1 because I have to get up at 7.20 latest.

I have that problem every Sunday, and tonight it's squared because we just had 1.5 weeks with the night cycle.

I hate this :( I never have sleeping problems, only when I go to bed and think YOU MUST SLEEP.

Eating some plum cake now, and drinking some water. 4 or 3 hours of sleep, what's the difference...

It's SO true. You can never sleep when you know you have to!

Terrible, isn't it? Sometimes I just hang on the couch in front of the TV set until I start falling asleep - then moving to bed is no problem. But when I'm working on the computer till last minute...duh!

Yeah, I hear you! I have the same problem too often. Sometimes, I think it would be easier to just keep to the same schedule every day, even on weekends and on holidays, but somehow, I've never managed to do that. I'm too much of a nightowl. ;-)

What helps me sleep is just lying still in bed and imagining my body to be warm and heavy and then telling myself: You don't need to sleep at all, if you just lie here quietly for this night, it'll be relaxing and refreshing regardless of how much or how little you slept.
Somehow, that thought usually makes me fall asleep. :~)

Aren't you working parttime too? When I started working 4 days a week (about 6 years ago)I decided to take the Monday off instead of the Friday usually preferred by most people. I never made a better decision! When I was still working fulltime I had that 'Sunday evening sleeping problem' every Sunday night. Since I have the Monday off: Nada! And I never had that problem again on Monday evenings, I go to bed thinking: 'Great, tomorrow is already Tuesday!'
Still have my '3 day weekend', but the Monday is so much more relaxing than the Friday where everyone has his day off or finishes working early and clogs supermarkets, trains and roads!

Maybe that would be an idea, but I hate working Fridays, somehow. I find it's easier to start Monday with all those rumpled colleagues. BTW, I think I would have the problem on Tuesday morning too.

But thanks for your information, I'll keep it in mind if I ever need to change schedules :)
