Kelvin is a little incident that only bothers politicians and Starfleet.

Losing Vulcan is the Federation-wide equivalent of 9/11!

History repeating after that? You bet.

And now that I gave the idea away, I hope to see it included in fic! :)

Shit. You're right. That makes it really resonate for me.

Yes, I think we'd see a lot of the fallout - a pressure for more security, more planetary defense systems, a general feel of vulnerability in the Federation and a feel of strength in other races that were not affected (Klingons excepted).

Psychologically, can you imagine what seeing the images from Vulcan vanishing being broadcast over and over throughout the Federation and most especially Earth with having such a close call for the same fate? Phew.

Fascinating idea! Wonder if there would also be various theories that it was actually a conspiracy by [insert power of your choice here] or something the government should have seen coming or just punishment for [misconduct as judged by various "moral authorities"]... *wanders off in thought*

Definitely ;) It's all the Romulans - or the Federation President. Or some Vulcan conspirators. And we all live in sin :P

*hugs*
