Hm, it works for you in TOS, too? Any special scenario you had in mind? I thought it was especially poignant b/c of the whole Vulcan-in-ST:XI thing... but then, Spock always had a troubled relationship to his home planet in TOS, too.

Damn, now I too can see it as TOS, with Spock off to Vulcan/Gol and McCoy buried in his medicine (though Kirk then doesn't fit but whatever). Art! So thoughtprovoking. *wanders off*
