*nods* I like the word "queer" because for me it is a fairly flexible term. I'm in a straight marriage, and monogamous, but that doesn't make me less bisexual or have less non-standard stuff in my head about sexuality.

Ah, good. I suddenly had the fear I had misunderstood the common use of "queer" and had insulted lesbians by misusing it. Glad to hear that my interpretation was okay.

There's always a certain amount of dispute over terminology. (Silly, most of the time, but there it is.)

But no, I don't think "queer" means only "lesbian" or only "gay," by any means. Someone who was completely heterosexual in their inclinations and actions could also use "queer" as a self-description if other aspects of their sexuality were non-traditional, e.g. they cross-dressed, engaged in BDSM, had significant fetishes, etc. At least in the way *I* understand and use the term "queer"!
