I read that last night. My favorite part is that they've apparently never heard of Ursula K. Le Guin, and that they seem to think that Heinlein's incest plotlines are somehow more natural and better than having strong or likeable female characters, or God Forbid a gay character.

Also, if they think that Doctor Who ONLY became absurd because of Captain Jack, I want what they're smoking.

Doctor Who has been f***ed up since day one. Maybe they've never seen the show?

It's either that, or they've only started watching it sober with Captain Jack's introduction.

When I first read the article I got angry then I laughed because obviously this man knows very little about real science fiction. He completely skips over the contributions of Ursula K. Le Guin and DC Fontana and basically puts up the 'No Girls Allowed' sign on Science Fiction.

Well too bad we are here and we are the ones keeping the genre alive while he and the rest of the boys play video games. You don't like what the fangirls are doing, write your own stuff, make an impact, and quit being a little whiner.

Have I mentioned lately that the fangirls in Star Trek are the coolest and the most fun people on the internet.
Cause we are.

D'oh. Bad me. I have ruined sci-fi for all the straight men folk out there! Which is crap cuz my straight male Dad has always loved sci-fi and still does.

Not to mention that most male geeks and nerds WANT a woman who shares their passion.

I guess this means that women have to sit down, shut up, and enjoy because their husband/boyfriend enjoys and not for her own pleasure.

I laughed, and then I realize that these people are responsible for all of the regressive social problems. Then it stopped being quite as funny.

The Battlestar Galactica thing is hilarious. At SupaNova earlier this year in Sydney, a male old-school BSG fan (in old-school Starbuck costume) basically fawned all over every whiney comment Dirk Benedict made about the "emasculation of Starbuck". Pff.

How sad some people in the 21st century are still stuck in the 1950's...

Huh. That's all I really have to say before dismissing the article (and rolling my eyes).
