acetonitrile is a beautiful AU in which McCoy turns blind due to an illness. The story describes how his life evolves, especially when he gets to know Jim Kirk who has his own baggage in life. Wonderful, long story.
And All the King's Men bymijan is a great story with a focus on Kirk and the Kirk&McCoy relationship with a side dish of Pike, in which mijan once more manages to bring her military service experience in for the very best, exploring what might happen if in one of Kirk's live simulations, unexpected things turn up. Not wanting to spoil here, but she takes a famous TOS gimmick and for once deals with it in serious detail.
And have also some great art: Bones nicely manhandling Kirk on a Halloween party - yum!
