Our Saturday evening

I forgot to write about it - well, probably because my brain took all Sunday to get warm again ;)

We were at a barbecue on a field at about 6(?)°C in the night, and my wuffel made a branding on a petplay friend of us, who is a pony by nature :) I think it was one of the more whimsical scenes in my life, and definitely one of the coldest ever, but truly something to tell your grandchildren about...(if we had any, so I'm telling all of my lj readers instead *g* ;)

But I'm very proud that my hubby did it so well. He's really becoming an accomplished brander :) .oOI want some more, too!)

It was surely one of the most bizarre scenes we've ever had :) Half past midnight on a meadow, freezing cold and very few light from one flashlight and the gas torch. But it was great. We got our pony almost by surprise. He expected something to happen, but not this :) For those who are horrified by the idea of red-hot iron on skin: It's harmless. You don't feel it, because the iron touches the skin for only half a second. The nerves are instantly killed. Our pony friend didn't even wince. Later, when we sat at the camp fire, he wore a smile from ear to ear.

This time we had real irons, especially made for this 2-legged pony. It just feels more pony-like than using many small strokes. The sign shows a real horse brand for Haflinger (which he pretends to be) bred in Berlin-Brandenburg (where he lives).
