A link to the Mohammed caricatures...
Feb. 3rd, 2006 01:09 pm...that kind of started a "war" between Denmark (and the rest of the European world, which has things like freedom of speech and *gasp* freedom of the PRESS) and uncounted islamic countries.

Worth a death threat? You bet.
I don't distribute them because they are good, but because I think that this is a crucial point at which we have to stand up and declare our POV to religious followers who think that everyone should do exactly as they want all around this world. (If this were a debate over crucifixes and religios rights, I'd say the same. Stop extremism. Start thinking. Start putting a foot on things that demolish the above mentioned rights. We have a secular world based on humanism, and we want to keep that.)
P.S. More and more newspapers are printing at least some of the caricatures (Italy, Austria, France, Germany)...good thing.
P.P.S. Even if the Danish newspaper made it solely for provocation, ít has become a test now of the state of the world...

Darn, I'm full! My
wuffelchen cooked a great meal, and while the rumpsteak wasn't up to expectations (we'll buy the next ones somewhere else), the green beans, the croquettes and the sauce were very yummy :))
Coming next: Battlestar Galactica, 2nd ep, on RTL II *bouncy*Even though I still miss Lorne Greene.
