This is the first of three stories in my Rura Penthe AU series. All stories start with the premise that Kirk and McCoy couldn't be saved from Rura Penthe in ST VI, the Federation President is killed and a war between the Federation and the Klingon Empire takes place. What happens to our heroes?

S/Mc AU back to 30K words and developing. Hope I'm done with it soon, as other fic ideas are taking over my mind already.
