Just tumbled over this story, and it caught me for hours. K/S-y in a way I don't mind, maybe because it's actually GEN :) Very touching, very well written IMHO. Great McCoy inside, too.

*minimizes story to read later, as it is still new to me*

I agree--a very good story. There seems to be a higher ratio of good to bad writing in lengthy Trek fic that is billed as gen (IMVVVVVHO) as opposed to slash or hetsex focused.

And I hadn't seen that site before, but the disc-come-Enterprise is priceless! ::rummaging for an old one::

You've got to make a story *better* if it doesn't have sex to disguise bad writing, right? ;-)

Glad you liked it *g*

And yes, I feed a lot of my K/S/Mc cravings rather with GEN (because the classic triumvirat is so visible there, while it's often bashed in K/S - and you only have to bash what you fear IMO).

Yeah, don't let the domain name fool you. Long story how that ended up on that domain, but it is most certainly gen. In fact, I think the person who put that zine together was very anti-K/S, IIRC.
