Brent Spiner was asked who he thought was the best Startrek actor (subnote: besides him), and he first made some joking remarks, then said that DS9 had the best overall cast, in his opinion, and that Ricardo Montalban had the best performance in ST II - someone once had told him that Montalban probably would have gotten an Oscar for it, if this performance had not been in a Startrek movie...

I have great bitterness on the fact that science-fiction is discounted as a genre for such things and rarely allowed much more than a special effects award.
