I hadn't heard of this one, or anything quite this extreme, although the general tactic is pretty common. Businesses target-market to people on religious related lists they have purchased by saying that they are "Christian" and the competition isn't--like some kind of stamp of approval.
It works wonderfully in the area I live in.
Although I belive the Disney boycott 10 years or so ago was organized by churchs just to hurt the company for allowing same sex domesetic partner benefits, a lot of other "family entertainment" businesses tried to capitilize on Disney's so-called "bad name" and say they were the pure alternative.
