...that one of my US friends really asked me if we had pizza home delivery service in Germany *shaking my head* To prove for all times that we're quite well-equipped with that, look at this pic ;)

PIZZA!

Italien, chinese, and mexican food plus a crepes/baguettes shop. Ok, we cheated a bit - not all of those make home delivery. But since we only keep the best ones, it would give a too low number ;P

Hehe... Americans can be funny like that about Europe. No offense to my amazing American friends. I'm sure I can be clueless about stuff from the US. :)

Yeah, someone from France once told me that they all think we're obsessed with the prom king and queen in high school over here... no one really gives a crap, except in very small towns where the graduating class is like 20 people or something.

Well, you can blame movies for that. I've always tried to be very critical about what I see of american culture in movies or on TV, so when I first went there I was going "well, now I'll see once and for all that it ISN'T like in the movies"... So what surprised me was the stuff that actually WAS accurate. o_O

Like how horribly fake commercial announcers voices sound - I was convinced that was something they made up in movies. Little things like that. :)

Yeah, you're right, it IS the movies, all that high-school stuff... but as for commercial voices, yes, it's stupid. But most of us think so as well *g*

There's a lot of stupidity in the media here. That's something I've always felt.

I've read that cigarette companies have done their best to convince third-world countries that all Americans smoke, to sell stuff to them. They really have started believing this. It's really sick. As a botanist, I know--the stuff in tobacco is a POISON! It's a plant defense mechanism!

Hey, I'll take your word for it!

I'm sorry . . . it was a bad attempt at humor or ribbing or something. That's what I get for reading Douglas Adams in high school.
