Well, almost. Had a great weekend with great weather (though a bit cool when the sun was gone), and everything was wonderful and everyone happy. Can't ask for more :)

I'm just damn tired now and can't handle any demands on my person anymore. Hubby is pampering me, and we're having food from the pizza delivery.

Coming tomorrow: Late train to Frankfurt.

McCoy nodded, seemingly not able to find words himself. Spock turned and started to leave again.

"Spock?"

The Vulcan turned back to the figure at the window. "Yes, Bones?"

"Yesterday -- could you have handled it?"

"Making love with you?" Spock looked at him, knowing that he was asking for honesty. He thought for a minute but finally had to shake his head. "I really don't know, Bones." The curiosity was too tempting. "Could you?"

McCoy laughed, but it was shaky and self-conscious. "I really don't know either."

Spock bowed his head in understanding, then started again to leave. His hand was almost on the door panel when McCoy's voice stopped him.

"Spock?"

Once more he turned back, the extended leave-taking becoming more painful.

"Yes?"

McCoy straightened and walked quickly across the room. As he came to a stop in front of Spock, a look of curious intensity passed across his face. He held a hand out to Spock.

"Well, just in case we never find out."

With those words, he let the hand rest on Spock's shoulder and slowly pulled him into a close embrace. Their height was matched, and Spock almost didn't have to tilt his head to lean into the Human's kiss. McCoy's lips were thinner and his kiss drier than Kirk's. But his skill was just as great. They kissed long and deep, learning each other with a skill that would never be needed or tested again. The flame that burned in Spock for Kirk, burned as brightly now for McCoy. They pulled apart and looked at each other -- both shaken by new knowledge. McCoy recovered first.

"Well, get out of here, if you're going."

He gave Spock a small shove toward the door. Afraid that his eyes might be as bright as the doctor's, Spock turned and left.

*happy sigh*

Hmmm... Spock calling McCoy 'Bones' disturbs me slightly.
But then again, I am easily disturbed ;-)

You, too? I was just going to say that. Spock really wouldn't call him Bones - and even if he did - certainly not twice in the same conversation.

It's building up in the story and so it didn't bug me while reading. It's not what I would write, because I rather have Spock say an affectionate "Doctor" :))

So then Spock goes back to Kirk, hm? Reminds me why I just can't read K/S - McCoy will always be my favorite Trek character.

No, actually both leave Kirk, because it's pre-TMP.

There are glitches in the story that bother me enough to call it "AU", but OTOH I'm happy to find every K/S/Mc on this planet *G* Will post information tonight how to get it for a full read.
