Misc. Sunday morning (midday)

Yesterday, we went late-shopping to our favorite mall with a "Media Markt" where you can buy all kind of electronic goodies and DVDs. After spending much thought on how to fix that old-video-tape-to-digital-file problem and already having had a combi machine with VHS tape and DVD burner in hand, we switched to another solution: VHS machine (cheap new one, because our old ones are really buggy) plus a digitizer unit to connect to the computer via USB. Plus hubby has bought a DVBT unit (with recording ability) so that we can have TV on the computer.

Phew. Now, we just have to get it all work :P DVBT is running now. The VHS solution will be tested later. I so hope to be able to save many of my old Hollywood movie recordings (because to buy them all on DVD would cost a fortune).

And of course, we also bought some DVDs: X-Men 2, Seven Samurai, Kagemusha, Batman Begins and the X-Files movie. It was as usual a rather expensive saturday-night-shopping round, but it was FUN :)

Other than that, working on my third vid and finding that with faster music, it's a heck of a lot to snip and adjust *feels more grey hair coming up* Just why did I start this damn hobby? *whine***

Ich habe vor einigen Monaten einen Pioneer HDD/DVD Recorder gekauft, mit dem ich seitdem all meine (alten) Videos auf DVD brenne. Und was besonders wichtig für mich war, ist die Tatsache daß er auch meine NTSC Videos wunderbar auf PAL DVDs konvertiert, was ja bekanntlich zwischen Video NTSC-Video PAL nicht geht. Wenn ich fertig bin, schmeiß ich meinen VCR auf den Müll :-).
