New vid :))
Nov. 4th, 2005 12:35 amBut it comes with a fair warning - hubby just watched it, doesn't like the song and doesn't understand the vid. I fear it's something I made just for myself *G*
Kirk and the Enterprise...an unusual TMP vid to the song "Wonderwall" by Oasis
10 MB wmv format, linked here.
Oh, and it's kind of dedicated to Hypatia who coined the phrase "starship porn" ;)

Date: 2005-11-04 08:37 am (UTC)Maybe it could have been shorter - I've noticed vidders often take liberties with songs and don't hesitate to cut them up so as to have a tighter vid, get rid of a long intro, or of having the chorus 10 times, or because there are a few lyrics that don't fit.
I really liked that it made me remember that it's a great movie visually - no, not the costumes ;-), but the sets, the ships, the shipyard, all the shots around the Enterprise and in the V'Ger cloud - it really gives an idea of the hugeness of it all. Also, Kirk and Scotty had not started to walk the path of the whale yet ;-) So it's a shame that you made it so small - is it because you lack space on your hard drive or website? or because it would take a much longer time to process on the computer? (I have no idea!)
I've also noticed that your vids all begin with a grey screen for a few seconds - is it just me?
So, I started to watch it a bit warily, but in the end I found it quite good. The idea was great too: K/Enterprise IS, after all, canon ;-)
Have you ever listened to These are the Days of our Lives by Queen? Great for a K&S&Mc&... - well, for an all-crew vid, really.

Very true, but audio cutting is much more complicated than vid cutting, so I just don't have a clue yet. However, I'm not the type to brood endlessly about each project - I need to get something finished once in a while even though it's not as good as possible...so you're all my guinea pigs :)

Ah. I don't see that here, but I can guess the reason and will try to fix it with the next ones :))

Small in what? My computer opens it in rather large format, so you should just be able to change your watching parameters on your side. However, I'm also still totally in the dark how to process the result best, and will ask a nice vidder to help me.

*grins* Yes. Originally, I thought about making it K/Mc or even K/S, but seeing the ship and Kirk's face, it kind of constructed it itself.

Thanks for the tip! Can't quite remember this song at the moment, but will check it out :)))
And thanks for the long feedback - as I said, really helpful :)))

Date: 2005-11-04 11:47 am (UTC)As for the size of the vid, I meant the default size. I can watch it in a bigger one, of course, but the quality of the picture lessens the more I enlarge it. I've seen vids that didn't last as long & yet were four times this one's size, but if you consider it as more of an essay than your vidding masterpiece it's fine ;-)
As for the Queen song, well... It's all about looking back on one's younger days.
I've played with the idea of trying vidding myself, but apart from my recent computer woes, I'm not sure I'd have the patience. I only had a few ideas, and stopped there, as I often do ;-b
