Oh, it was expensive. Well, ok, a new phone with answering machine, and a DVBT antenna were really necessary. But the DVDs...well ;) The complete Jurassic Park box, some Kurosawa movies for hubby and the complete Space:1999 box (Mondbasis Alpha in German). Watching that now.

Therefore...time for a POLL!

I know nothing about Space:1999, but I approve of your other choices!
Except, what's a DBVT antenna?

DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial) is a TV broadcast format (http://www.answers.com/topic/dvb). We have a receiver as USB device on one of our computers, but the antenna was too weak :)

The Kurosawa movies - those with the tea ceremonies in it, that play in the middle ages?

Uhm...I have no idea? We didn't watch them all yet, and there are about 6 here by now.

I adore Space 1999. They showed it in 98/99 here, presumably as a tongue in cheek homage thingy. But I think they gave up half way through. What I loved most about it was that there was a change of personnel and set after the first season. Which made me go Huh? a lot, but if you're going to suspend your disbelief to the extent of the Moon being blasted out of Earth's orbit and (presumably) the Earth surviving it (I have no idea if that was addressed in the series), and the Moon then wandering happily through space like a spaceship... Well, if your disbelief can cope with that it can certainly cope with the fact that new staff members suddenly turned up.

And Jurassic Park? Ooh, guilty pleasure...

I only watched the first 13 eps of Space 1999 so far, so now I'm really curious what's coming *G* Yeah, the moon idea is weird, I had to suspend big unbelief. But other than that, it's fun :)

Jurassic Park is cool...1, at least, 2 is ok, and I didn't watch 3 so far, but people told me it's good *G*
