I've got lots of TOS books (as to be expected), but also a dozen DS9 ones (barely read, because they crossed my path when I began with fanfiction, and most pro-novels fell flat due to the lack of NC-17 contents ;), some TNG ones and *gasp* two VOY ones. I have the cross-series Fury and Invasion Series and some others series parts. I even have four of the IMVHO terrible Shatner trek novels.

I also have two dublettes and the DS9 Millenium series as single paperbacks as well as big master paperback *rolls eyes*

In addition, I have lots of secondary literature by now, two Shatner bios (unread), two Nimoy bios (read), two De bios (though where is the old...?), one Nichols, one Takei; "Startrek Lives", "Letters to Star Trek" and the two Gerrold books, Harlan's book about "City on the Edge of Forever", the Alan Forsters' and...these other ones, blah, forgot the name. Anyway, the rack is rather full. Still trying to find the best way for ordering the stuff.

P.S. Converting KY ep 6 out of 13 now. (KY - LOL! Someone needs to write a story about this!)

Hm. I thought it was interesting. Not too whiny for me (but I guess Hypatia would think differently here). It's just one side of a coin aka story where nobody is able to tell the real truth anymore, which I find intriguing *G*

However, AFAIR it's not very cheap, and I don't know if I would pay a lot of money for it again.

I researched this: You can get it used on Amazon for under 5 bucks (paperback).

if you don't have it already, I would recommend you get A Stitch in Time by Andrew Robinson. Is very good.

I got it after seeing Robinson on stage, but never really read it *hangs head in shame*

I started by reading the TNG pro novels - just fell head over heels for the show when it came on and I was about 11 or so. First read bk #4 with Tasha and Data and Tasha's long lost lover. Come to think of it that's probably the sexiest of all Star Trek books, too - someone actually had a love life! Wow. Metamorphosis was excellent that way, too - actual flirting action going on for poor Data and mentions of him loving and having sexual relations with Tasha. Woohoo! ;)

Now I've collected quite a few TOS books and have decided to get rid of about half of my Star Trek books. Anything that I don't remember the plot of must mean I didn't like it much and will get dumped the minute I find someone that will take Trek books. LOL Now have the remains of my collection shoved into the bottom of my book shelf. The books I can't bear to part with. Mostly the earlier TNG books and any book that was heavily centered on McCoy. (Those rare few...)

I totally agree that my loss of interest in the pronovels was lost almost as soon as I discovered fanfic. What was always missing was for the characters to actually CHANGE and fall in love and do things that didn't totally stay in sync with the all holy canon of the show. And well...Spock so obviously has fallen in love with Bones and the pronovel authors are just clueless about that. ;)

While I own some TNG, I started with TOS watching, later TOS books (ST II novelization was the first German trek book that hit the stores in 1984, I think). So I will surely keep my all TOS novels *coughs*g*

I bought some DS9 out of fun and later for research, but it's not the same total love as with TOS, although I really liked DS9 and it's the next-closest to my heart.

I do re-read TOS novels once in a while - I think some of them have the plot and general crew interaction lots of the slash fanfic is missing...
