Went up at 8 this morning to collect fallen apples in our garden, sigh. It's becoming a real problem, as the apple quality is low (they are really just garbage with a lot of work) but the tree has more apples than ever. We're going on vacation in a week, so my poor mother-in-law, who also takes care of the birds, will have to deal with them (and she has back problems).

Ah well. other than that, it's a good, albeit warm day. We'll hit the road later very soon for meeting people in Cologne for business and barbecue.

This sounds lovely. Reminds me of my Grandmother's farm with her 4 apple trees. I miss it.

Yeah, such trees are part of our youth. However, I sometimes wander if our grandmas didn't like the work either *G*

My one greatparents had a cherry tree once and axed it, and I was an unhappy child. But looking back, I know why they did it *G*
