Even though I didn't manage to import the uis sequence per se, I could import all bitmaps and move them together to export them as vid. Here's the result as wmv file. It unfortunately isn't the best example, but you may able to see that the background behind Kirk is getting b&w. You also can see bad editing in the flicker around his hair in the last part, when the background is really dark ;)

BTW, the effect a colored movie edited to show only small color elements is often called Pleasantville effect after the movie (which I saw lately and liked a lot :)
