We just watched American History X on TV, which is a very impressive/shocking/brutal/insightful movie. Highly recommended. Great acting, great actors (including Avery Brooks),, great script. But nothing for weak nerves.

Now I need a dose of the usual brainless US hollywood movie schmonz to calm down.

I know exactly how you feel. I saw the last 2/3 of it once and thought - okay, that's a very good movie, but horrible. Then I ended up seeing the whole thing, and I still get sick thinking about it. It's still an insightful movie, but I'm never going near it again. *hugs*
