(Actually, I was talking about the character in the series / movies - I'm aware of the fact that there's a lot of fanfiction around that focusses on the character in hurt/comfort or torture situations - call me sappy, but I can't read such stories. [In any fandom.] They haunt me for months. I'm very protective of my favourite characters. ^_^ )
By the way: I'm trying to compensate for my cold by playing with photoimpact and working on new trek icons...
I have a fascination for torture and hurt/comfort (though not of the overly sappy kind) but I don't impose it on unaware readers :)))
But sometimes I'm not sure if writing a character fighting the "wings and arrows or outrageous fortune" is good because I get rid of some of my own stress, or bad because I relive and strengthen it while writing.
It's a matter of taste. I think everyone has his own preferances. I mean, look at me: I can't stand torture but I'm a big fan of vampire novels - the bloodier the better. ^_^
Oh, that's difficult - I suppose it's different from story to story...
Mc/Sc *thinks hard* I think in the body change - Lester episode they are rather close to each other. There are several moments in the eps, but I have got to admit that Scotty has for me almost zilch erotic potential :)

Get better soon! (I can sympathize - I've got a nasty cold *sniffel*)
I think you could do worse than identify with McCoy - after all, he is pretty successful and always bounces back.)
