Since my business rl took a first turn towards the better, I'm relaxed enough to enjoy this:

Checked out the teaser site referred there and am in a real big squeeeee mode now. More hopeful than ever that they will make it right. Please, please, please, in the name of The Great Bird of the Galaxy, GET IT RIGHT!

Of course the special effects will be cool and I'm sure it will be visually pleasing, but I still feel sick at the idea of a New Improved Star Trek TOS. Just knowing a new generation of fans will likely prefer the younger hipper versions of Spock/Kirk/McCoy...ick. It's just wrong to me.

If only they were just making new characters I could enjoy it more. And the very idea that from now on I'll have to state my preferences for Sp/K/Mc actors portraying the characters when speaking of the fandom and pairings... And what will it do to fanfic? With new authors writing for new actors portraying the characters - does the new McCoy even have blue eyes?? I don't remember much from the pictures I saw a few months ago - only enough to remember that they were nowhere near as handsome as the originals to me. Yep, I'm doom and gloom when it comes to the movie. Sorry to rain on your parade.
