Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
May. 25th, 2008 10:14 amI liked it a lot. YAY! SQUEE! I think Harrison Ford is great and believable in this role, so YUM. Very well done special effects and stunts, rather well-paced movie. I want to watch it again.
The plot is somewhat dumb. I could have done without the aliens in the plot, as X-Files covers that enough for me, and there are some strange natives thrown in for random action. The Tarzan scene was the only shake-head moment for me.
But there was also great action&adventure: I loved Marian's return, the references to old movies, the 50s-clichée-Russians, the whole 50s references with "Marlon Brando on Harley" or fights between youth groups, the fight in/between the cars in the jungle - great pacing :) Indy's son is cool and Ox is cool.
P.S. After having suffered thought "National Treasures: Book of Secrets" on my US flight, I know how easily this kind of adventure movie could be screwed, so GO INDY! You're still the best. Can I please have Indy 5 :)?
