Oct. 10th, 2006 09:09 pmThis was a damn long day, but rather successful. Worked a lot, drove a lot and had a techdok meeting where I got a fresh look at structured information.
P.S. Over at Christie's, they have published the realized prices. McCoy's civilian suit from ST II would have been relatively cheap and with 3800 within the estimated range, while the two things we considered, the Enterprise Blankets and the Steering Wheel from ST V, went WAAAAY beyond what we would have paid.
P.S. Read this fellow slashers: A lavender sweater, scarf, and blue jeans with belt and boots -- worn by DeForest Kelley as Dr. McCoy in the campfire scene at the end of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier LAVENDER sweater! The magic LAVENDER! It's a SIGN!
Other highlights of the auction, while randomly checking the lot list:
54,000 $ for T'Pau's Amok Time custome, while Spock's Gown from ST III/IV made a mere 8,400. Dame Anderson's robe from ST III even only 3,360.
As said in the media, some maniac gave 144,000$ for the rather weirdly looking McCoy suit from the Tholian Web
One of the more expensive Kirk outfits (movie uniform) went for 28,000 $ . That someone paid 8,400$ for Kirk's jumpsuit from Generations is somehow bad taste, in my rating :P
Amusing: Spock's HEADBAND from ST IV made a respectable 4,560$. And for 4800$ you could get two original tribbles ;)
Impressive: the three-dimensional chess board plus chess pieces made 28,000$! (Which is more than Janeway's desktop computer for 21,600$.
A piece of Uhura aka Uhura's necklace from the reunion scene in ST III made 6,600$ - there must have been some fans of her around :)
Most models went over the table for a LOT of money, for example the Defiant model for 102,000 $, and the DS9 model for 132,000 $. The absolute highlights: Enterprise A model for 284,800 and Enterprise D model for 576,000.
Compared to that, Kirk's desk was rather cheap with 15,600$.
One of Picard's uniforms for 18,000...though many customes started around 2,000 $
The set drawings ended between 1000 to 6,000$, like this from TMP
