Liz Smith spills the beans on Boston Legal's James Spader and his forthcoming interview with Playboy magazine. In it Spader gets up close and personal, to the point that when writer Lawrence Grobel asks, "Now that it's over, what do you think? Any regrets?" Spader replies, "Just one: that I agreed to do it." During his time with Grobel Spader talked not only about the deaths he has seen and suffer - "I've had many friends die from AIDS, age, suicide, homicide." - On the subject of sex the divorced father of one said he can "understand" the complicated desires of some of the characters he has played, but not to the exclusion of other forms of sexuality. Later on talking about the effects of drugs he notes, "I should be careful about saying that. I have a 15-year-old."
