I watched the X-Files movie...

And I have got to say, dear friends, I'm surprised about you.
I AM ANNOYED. I expected mediocrity from your comments, but what I got was...BLEH.
Okay, now that I cooled down a little, it's not all in capslock anymore, but DUH. I DISLIKE THIS MOVIE.
GAY MARRIED-IN-MASSACHUSETTS RUSSIANS STEALING BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMEN'S BODIES AS REPLACEMENT????
WTF???
From that point on in the movie, I only sat there shaking my head.
AND TOO MUCH RELIGIOUS CRAP. And who the fuck wrote the lame dialog?!
The movie really starts where season 9 ended, especially concerning the weaknesses! Scully and this kid crap (this subplot is LAME. LAME. LAME).
The Mulder/Scully relationship...BLEH. And I really love those two together. But in this movie, it is very pointless.
And while the Skinner/Mulder scene in the snow made my husband say "Now this can be slashed!" (he), it's ILLOGICAL. Why not pulling him into the warmth?!
This whole movie was full of glaring plot holes. And it wasn't selling them well either. Bits and pieces of a plot, but a lame overall exertion. And I'm not going into the dog-with-two-heads thingy.
I AM ANNOYED. And I dearly hope that when getting out of the Startrek movie next year, it will NOT feel like I felt tonight. Or Heroes Season 3. Please, be BETTER.
Main good point: They still both look remarkably good.
Tomorrow, I'll re-watch some episodes of X-Files the Series. Thank God (no matter which one) for DVDs!
P.S. If you watch the movie...stay seated. Just a tip.

Date: 2008-08-08 08:53 pm (UTC)It wasn't on my TOP 10 movie list too, but I thought it wasn't that bad...
You criticized:
Too much religion
- Much religion yes, but was it shown in a positive way? NO! And that was what I liked. The catholic hospital Scully worked in gave me the creeps! And a priest who molested young boys. That's the life!
Plot holes
- I still can't get the plot of the first movie straight and I've watched that several times!
Two headed dog thingy
- well, we had the Great Mutato with two mouths, A circus freak with a living killing twin in his stomach, a guy who had a hand transplanted from a lizard, is a two headed dog so much worse?
For me it was not that good, but a good entertainment on a Monday evening. I saw it as a prolonged episode of the series. BUT I HATED MULDER'S VOICE TOO!!!
And there were some good tiny bits and pieces. Have you seen the call list on Mulder's mobile?
The names preceeding Scully's numer were:
Bowman
Gillian
(and perhaps more I didn't get so quickly)
