In my search for information about comic drawing, a friend (who has been Art Director in a big German company and worked on various comic movies) gave me this great link for comic fonts and lettering:

From which I quickly tumbled into a great website all for lettering and ballooning of comics.

They have e.g. a great tutorial for coloring hand-drawings and a very interesting, long transcript of a discussion about ballooning and lettering styles and pro and cons of thought ballons etcpp. I've never been much into comic books besides Asterix, Lucky Luke and Disney, but this is really cool to read and gives me a completely new view on comics per se.

I also pulled my comic animation book out of the shelf. Hm, let's see...
